For Over 45 years. He has been conducting choirs for over 40 years in mostly liturgical settings. But he has also conducted opera choruses performing standard oratorio repertory in addition to the debuts of his own oratorios for 20 years. During this time, he has prolific liturgical composer, writing music sacred anthems and arrangements in addition to sacred oratorios. Apart from his liturgical composing, he has composed an opera, and a number of chamber works. Below is a list of some of his works and where you can purchase or rent the parts. JOSEPH Piano/Vocal Score of an Oratorio by Dan Montez. This Choral Work is for full Chorus (SATB) and Soloists (Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, and Bass). Orchestra Parts and Full Conductor Score is available. The oratorio is based on the Old Testament character of Joseph. The oratorio includes the major narrative including Joseph being sold into Egypt by his brothers, his service to Potiphar, his imprisonment, the interpretation of dreams, saving Egypt from famine, becoming powerful, and finally saving his family (all of Israel) and bringing them to Egypt. There are twenty-one pieces in the work. Total time to perform is about one hour and ten minutes.


ESTHER Piano/Vocal Score of an Oratorio by Dan Montez. This Choral Work is for full Chorus (SATB) and Soloists (SATB, the soprano singing the part of Esther). Orchestra Parts and Full Conductor Score is available. The oratorio is based on the Old Testament character of Esther. The oratorio includes the major narrative, including the spiritual moments found in the Septuagint translation of scripture. IN BOCCA AL LUPO After composing many oratorios, Dan Montez composed his first comedy opera, a hilarious comedy based on a buffoon who tries to run an opera company. "In bocca al lupo" is how opera singers wish each other good luck before a show, just as theater performers use the term "break a leg." The opera is composed for five leading characters and a full chorus. Roles include a buffo bass/baritone, a soprano, a tenor, and a coloratura mezzo, with a final tenor as secondary lead. Scenes include: The Auditions, The Office, The Coaching, The Staging, The Fundraiser, The Stage, and The Opera. "In bocca al lupo" is in English, but opera company is attempting to produce and Italian opera. 300 pages. Two Acts, and two hours to perform.
